The House of Secret Histories

Karen Harvey is the academic in residence at Bank Street Arts.  Her research focused on the man and domesticity in the Georgian era, and her residency was, in part, a way of situating that research in the late Georgian buildings at Bank Street.  Karen has been collaborating with non-historians to see how other disciplines might communicate historical knowledge.  The exhibition, The House of Secret Histories, opens with a private view this evening from 6pm.

The other artists collaborating with Karen are sound artist Ian Baxter and visual artist Katherine Johnson.

There’ll also be two book launches/readings this evening, one is Karen’s book, The Little Republic, and the other is Paul Munden’s, Asterisk, with his poems, and photographs by Marion Frith, from Shandy Hall.
